Tech — packaging engineering

The Tech department is our engineering lab: it studies and develops complex packaging, designs high-impact-resistant boxes and refines the systems that make production precise and repeatable. From idea to testing, engineering at the service of protection.

Engineering capabilities

When an object is fragile, complex in shape or high in value, protection has to be engineered, not improvised. Tech starts from a survey of the object — including 3D scanning — and arrives at a tested prototype, optimising materials, weights and dimensions. It's the department that develops the ROKEN box and defines the standards Pack puts into production.

Study and development of complex packaging

Design of solutions for fragile, non-standard or complex-shaped objects, where off-the-shelf packaging isn't enough.

High-impact-resistant boxes

Development of crates and containers designed to absorb shocks, vibrations and stresses during transport.

ROKEN box development

Research and engineering of our proprietary crate, optimised for protection, weight and reuse.

3D survey and scanning

Three-dimensional acquisition of the object and reverse engineering to design housings that follow its shape exactly.

CAD design and prototyping

CAD modelling, project development and prototype construction to validate before production.

Testing and validation

Drop, vibration and compression tests to validate packaging performance to international standards (ISO, ISTA).

Handling and control systems

Design of systems and equipment to move and check goods safely and repeatably.

Optimisation and industrialisation

Reduction of materials, weights and dimensions and putting validated solutions into production, in connection with the Pack department.

How we work

  1. Analysis of the object and of protection and transport requirements
  2. 3D survey / scanning and CAD design
  3. Prototype and validation tests (drop, vibration, compression)
  4. Testing to standards and final optimisation
  5. Industrialisation and hand-over to Pack production

Why ROKEN HUB

Having engineering in-house means packaging designed for real transport, not off-the-shelf solutions. Tech designs, prototypes, tests and validates, working with Pack which puts it into production: a closed loop that ensures precision, repeatability and testing to international standards. This is where the ROKEN box is born and evolves.

Frequently asked questions

Do you design custom packaging for complex objects?

Yes: we study and develop solutions for fragile, non-standard or complex-shaped objects, from survey to tested prototype.

What are high-impact-resistant boxes?

They're crates and containers designed to absorb shocks, vibrations and stresses, validated with drop and compression tests.

Do you use 3D scanning?

Yes: we capture the object's shape in 3D and, through reverse engineering, design housings that follow it exactly.

Do you test packaging before production?

Yes: we run drop, vibration and compression tests and validate to international standards such as ISO and ISTA.

What's the relationship between Tech and Pack?

Tech designs, prototypes and validates; Pack puts into production. It's a closed loop combining engineering and an in-house workshop.
